When it hurts

Everything was going well this morning. The kids were going to school, my wife had the to do list, we were picking out tile for my latest project (the kitchen floor). I was at work, readying myself for a series of calls, when my Mom called and said she had to take my father to the emergency room. Just like that, my chest tightened, my heart raced, and I struggled to concentrate. It took me about 5 minutes to decide I was going to meet them there. As I headed out, I began what is a ritual for me when bad news strikes and the hurt begins; I pray. As I drove to the hospital, praying that the Lord would be merciful and again shower His grace on my parents, I began to feel warm and felt that everything would be ok. The Lord also gave me a message for my Dad, it was as clear as if He had whispered it into my ear from the passenger seat of my car. "Your vines have born much fruit in My name, you are blessed in My eyes." So, when it hurts really bad, turn to the Lord and listen, He will be there for you.
