Learnin and stuff
I frequently wonder about the quality of my children's education, but since I have children in all levels of school from elementary to college, I get a first hand look at how well my district here in Colorado is doing. This convinces me that regardless of state, throwing more money at education yields less and less of the results we are expecting. I was on the road to putting my kids into a private school, that is until I saw the bill. For one of the better schools in my area, it was going to set me back 13K per year for three of mine. Now it's not that I don't love my kids, but the wife and I will homeschool them before I shell out that kind of money. I so respect families that can do it, but for now, I guess we'll stick with public education as it seems to be working for us. All my kids are exceptional students, either in their SOAR (gifted and talented) programs, or on the honor roll for GPA. Now I am not bragging, but as long as parent stay involved, the stories like the one above should never happen.
