God's Comfort
Part of the reason I have not blogged in a week (although this is the second today) is that I had a family emergency to deal with. On Monday, I trudged off to work as usual, kissing my two youngest and my wife goodbye, and looking in on Kyle, my oldest son, who was home sick. I was about half way to work when my cell phone rang. My son Kyle (who was upset) told me "Dad, you have to come home. Something is wrong with Mom." I can't express in words, the emotion that was in that phone call. Now in 22 years of marriage, I can count on two fingers the times my wife has gone in to see her doctor (outside of normal female checkups and stuff), so when she says something is wrong, I listen. I turned the car around and breaking most traffic laws (except running a red light), I pulled up to the house in about 6 minutes. With a fire truck pulled up out front, I knew things had to be bad. I rushed in the house, up the stairs and into our bedroom to see my wife lying on the bed with 4 firemen around (Thank you to all the guys at Station 17) checking her vitals and such. She had been finishing Dylans' hair for school when her vision became distorted and she felt a bit faint. She decided to lay down and see if it would pass (stubborn woman). After lying down, the symptoms not only did not get better, they got worse. Kyle ended up calling 911 (great job too). She was confused and her blood pressure was alarmingly low, so Paramedics were called. Then the phone rang and Kyle answered, at this point he was panicking, talking to his Aunt who lived just 10 houses away. I was upstairs making sure Molly and Dylan were ok (a long with the dog), I got downstairs in time to hug Kyle and comfort him before the Paramedics and my sister-in-law showed up. I forgot to add that before I got home, but after the firemen arrived, Kim heard Dylan tell Molly that they should go to her room and pray. Have I said how much I love my kids! My sister-in-law, a wonderful woman, watched the kids while I followed the ambulance to the hospital. We spent four hours there, with Kim being tested, poked, prodded, and tested (Cat Scan). Everyone in the ER was great and very understanding. Kudos to those folks. To make a long story short, Kim was released, came home and rested the remainder of the day. Tuesday she went in to get both an MRI and MRA to make sure nothing funny was going on in her head. Through this whole situation, I felt Gods presence. From the first phone call, until yesterday when we reviews the MRI/MRA results with the doctor, I felt all would turn out ok, and I would have my normally healthy wife back. As of right now, the cause is still unknown, although a few opinions have been offered, and my wife is feeling fine (maybe a little tired). Needless to say, I love my wife, and if anything, will cherish our time together even more in the future than I did in the past. Psalm 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Wow, Todd. I am so glad that she's doing all right. I pray that if anything is wrong that she will be completely healed by the Lord. ((HUGS)) to you and your family.
